Thank you for such a wonderful website – it’s a great tribute to Errol Flynn and a great read for all of us Errol Flynn fans. I particularly like the Mulholland section – somehow for me that epitomizes Errol Flynn. Such a shame that it is no longer here – but we are so lucky that you have so many pictures of it – and that you have chosen to share them with us. Thanks again for a great website - we out here in cyberspace do appreciate what you've done. Steve Bee

I named my son after Errol, he was one of a kind. In the Detroit Michigan area we had a former actor named Bill Kennedy that would show old movies and discuss working with Errol. I was a little boy in the 1960's and would call into his show to ask him questions of what he was like and the such. I'm proud to say I have his spirit in my everyday life and will contioue to be one of his biggest fans.

Hi Jack! I first want to say that your site is THE BEST tribute to Errol Flynn on the internet and I'm so glad that I discovered it! I especially love the many photographs because you have so many that I have never seen before! I have been an Errol addict for many, many years. For the past 8 years, I've expanded my Errol movie library and never let a week go by without watching one of his classics. Thank you for such a fantastic website! All of us hard-core Errol Flynn fans really do appreciate it! I look forward to visiting on a regular basis!

This site is long overdue. So many great actors have followed in Errol's footsteps, not the least of whom is Robert Redford, who implied in a recent Playboy interview that he singlehandedly brought back the moustache in the '70s with his portrayal of the Sundance Kid. Redford may have revived it, but Errol Flynn was the stud who made the moustache famous! You can't sit down to watch any movie about poker from the 1940s without seeing someone wearing Errol Flynn's moustache. I salute you, Errol!

Gorgeous ABSOLUTELY - dashing yes - but aside from that, what makes Errol Flynn remarkable to me is the twinkle in his eyes that just oozes mischief, fun and love, no, a passion for life. Somewhere the generations that have followed have lost the thirst for life and replaced it with a need comfort and safety. He reminds me of a time when adventure, love, lust weren't dirty words. He's just sooooooo beautiful, so larger than anyone today . and a Gemini like me.

Hi- My Dad and Mr Flynn were friends in the late 1930's. My Dad was training in Latin America to be a bomber pilot before WWII to fly raids over Germany. They looked very much alike although Dad had a bit of the Tyrone Power look also. My Dad died in 1954 when I was very young but my Mom always talked about Dad's friendship with Mr. Flynn. I remember how she cried and cried when Mr. Flynn and Mr. Power died. Thanks for your wonderful site. Bob Good

So sad that he never got the recognition he deserved as an actor. I read somewhere that he was the poor man's Clark Gable, how can anyone say that, he was more dashing that Gable and better looking. I loved the twinkle in his eye too, nice site. Donna from Glasgow Scotland.

I must be one of the most fanatic fan of Errol around. There are many loyal fans out there for sure. Tried to find pictures of Errol's house on Mulholland Drive. Found it on the internet under: "Mulholland Farm 3". Have a look. Interesting.

My father Captain P.C. Cother was the Master/Captain for Errol Flynn on the yacht Zaca during 1956/57. I have many photos, letters and newspaper clippings from that time. Unfortunately my father passed away at the age of 92 in 2005.he never lost his English gentleman accent, and his love of the sea. A very active man until the day he went to sleep, he often talked of the days with Errol Flynn.

Jack, Thanks for a great website for the greatest actor in film history. It's high time that he be recognized by the Motion Picture Academy. Unfortunately, they seem to be more preoccupied with politics than actually recognizing amazing actors, actresses, and performances. Errol Flynn will be remembered when many of the current crop of wannabes have long vanished. His legend will live on as long as films are made.

What a gem! A true icon of a gifted and talented man. The actors these days can't pale in comparison to what a real movie star is, and Errol Flynn had it all and more. It gives your eyes delight in seeing him.

Wow - what a handsome and charming man Errol Flynn was. How we could use him in the less than wonderful movies we have today. I have ALL his movies and watch them over and over. I must admit I have a crush on him - even now.

Dear Mr. Marino, I am fifty-three years old. When I was eight, I discovered Errol Flynn, while watching They Died With Their Boots On. I remember crying, and still do when I watch it. My beautiful mother, (who died in 1965) loved him too, and told me she met him standing on a street corner in Chicago, back in the 40's. His films; The Sea Hawk, The Charge of the Light Brigade, Dodge City, Boots, Captain Blood still brings so much joy to my heart. I have his movies, still photos, and a priceless Life Magazine with Errol on the front: May 1938, Glamour Boy.the pages are all there and it features the making of Robin Hood. He has been ridiculed, and I am astounded at the cruel rumors and lies through the years about him. In May of 1986, I went with a couple of friends to Los Angeles, and the only thing I wanted to do was to drive up to Mulholland and see his home. I did!! This was a few months after Ricky Nelson was killed and if I am not mistaken, he resided in that house. I am saddened to hear now that the home is demolished. Thankfully, I have some photos I took of Errol's home. I thank you for this website. Tony Thomas was wonderful as I read his book, and have the book on Errol's films. I also read over and over, Niven's, Bring On the Empty Horses. There will never be another Errol Flynn, nor the beautiful golden days of Hollywood. Errol was magnificent. God Bless, Liz

After seeing all the amazing Flynn memorabilia at your place I have started watching some Flynn pictures again. Tonight I watched the DVD of SEA HAWK. I hadn't seen this film since the 80s. It was absolutely amazing. That entrance at the beginning when he was shouting commands before the first big battle is one of the greatest entrances in movie history. you hear his voice, then see him, looking as good as he ever did. I was enthralled, right to the end of the movie. My God, the poor man never knew how good he was...

By the way. that scene where Flynn and his men are rowing back to the Albatross in Panama after escaping through the swamps. when Flynn says "It's a miracle any of us are here, Bert." you can see the exhaustion in his face. it's like it's 1930 and he's back in New Guinea. anybody who watches him deliver that line and then says he's not a great actor is an idiot.

Great website from a long time Errol fan. A great shame they are knocking all the lovely houses of old Hollywood down. Great review of Inherited risk (*just finished it myself) and good to get a recommendation of another good good bio. Just a small quible. The jacket photo of the author is his mock up of the Sydney Greenstreet character and not "Rick" from Casablanca.

I grew up by the sea and always loved it. Before there was an internet or dvds or videos I was a fan. If ever one of Errol Flynn's movies were to be on I knew it and didn't miss a chance to see it. At the dawn of the video store age the very first movie I ever rented was Charge of the Light Brigade. Not because I'd never seen it but because I could see it.I've read all I good get my hands on that he wrote. He instilled in me at an early age the magic not only of film and adventure but of life itself. I deeply regretted when I heard about Muholland Farm being demolished. You have a great site and I'm deeply happy that so many share in and continue to appreciate the under appreciated Errol Flynn

1949, my mom and her friend visited Errol Flynn's house on Mulholland along with Bruce Cabbot. Question - Is the original house still there, can't see much from the road at all. Also noticed a Flynn Ranch Road behind the property on mulhullond, was this part of his original property?

I've been a fan of Errol's since I first heard my mother tell me of the time she danced with him in New York. According to her, he was THE most handsome and gentleman she had ever met - except of course for my dad! My dad liked his films. I've read "Wicked" many times, own a first pub or Earl Conrad's book "Errol Flynn, a Memoir" and several other mementos. Awesome site. Glad you did it!

What a fantastic tribute to Errol Flynn! It's odd.I'm 51 and up until the recent TCM spotlight, I had no awareness of the greatness of Mr. Flynn (where have I been all my life???!!!) Now, I can't get enough of him, he's in my blood. I have been reading all I can find, getting his movies and making up for lost time. Your website is the most informative and satisfying one I've found to date. The photo of Errol on the mast is exquisite!!! I never knew there were so many books written about him; now I will begin my quest in earnest for more more more Errol - the book reviews are a fantastic addition. I applaud all the time, effort and love you put into your wonderful site.it is greatly appreciated. I will be coming onboard often! Errol Flynn is such an inspiration for living life to the fullest, in seeking knowledge and experience. I'm really enjoying his books that he authored more than anything. I love his mind, his vision and his zest for life. Thank you!

Mr. Marino,
I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed your website. So many wonderful pictures and obscure details make it a very informative piece. It's good to see that there are others who think as I that Flynn was such a wonderful star. From seeing his films in childhood from my daddies knee, his impact on my life has been inescapable! My son is just 10 months old now but soon I know we'll be watching all the old films together and I have no doubt he'll get as much out of them as I have all these years.
Thank you so much for your research and efforts.
Sincerely,
Hank Reus, Jr.

Nice to see a site named after his boat for the waters of the world held a lot of fascination in the spirit of Errol's soul. I am looking for his movies such as Hello God, Too Much Too Soon, and Perfect Specimen---among others.
